A little over a year ago I was hit up side the head with a sudden reality that I wasn’t having so much fun working the 9-5 cubicle, excel-spreadsheet life helping other people make more money and getting a really small regulated piece of it compared to the hard work I put in day in and day out.
I realized that it didn’t really matter how well I did, how much responsibility I took on, and how much my bosses and co-workers liked me, I was climbing a ladder that was leaning against the wrong wall.
So I set out on a mission to do something different that gave me more freedom, more control over my income/hours and most of all made me excited to get up in the morning. I found that in freelancing.
It was a long exciting year. My escape year. I become a professional wantreprelearner. I knew I wanted to become an entrepreneur and I knew I needed to learn something new to become one.
I read books.
I read blogs.
I followed other people that escaped the cubicle and found freedom in freelancing.
I made a mile-long list of ideas.
I tested them.
I started websites.
I learned photoshop.
I learned to code.
I fell in love with building websites.
I got a few clients.
I learned to market myself online.
I saved up.
I hustled on the side.
I got more clients.
I quit my day job.
That’s the short story.
And this website is where I’m going to tell the long story.
I want you to be able to do the same, no matter what freelancing business you choose, and I’m here to help you do it.
That’s what the Freelance to Freedom Project is all about.
The hard stuff, the fun stuff, the on-going stuff.
No matter what stage you are at (just dreaming, just starting, or well on your way), this community will help you on your journey to freedom.
I’ve got a ton of great stuff to share about finding your perfect freelancing idea, building your online presence, finding your clients and growing your business from side-hustle to freelance freedom.
If that sounds great to you, stick around!
